YOU CAN'T BEAT BTEC!!!
SUCCESS

MESSAGE TO YEAR 11 2012 FROM MRS MILLER

HELLO YEAR 11!!!

I know I don't say it very often, but I am really proud of the effort you have been putting since I came back. I know it has taken some longer than others to get going but I think you are all finally getting there and we should see some fantastic folders at the end of it. I would ideally like to have a party for our class in the last week, so we can finally chill out and enjoy one another's company before your imminent exams. However I can't really do this if everyone still has to catch up! So please, please, please for your own sake get everything completed over Easter. If you don't then we have problems. You should be spending the last 3 weeks improving our work to ensure you get a pass, merit or distinction.

The first thing you need to do, before you start any work is the following:

1. Every time you finish a piece of work you MUST print it off!
2. Go through each assignment brief and tick off what you have done.
3. Begin completing your tasks. Do one at a time until it has been completed.
4. Once completed print if off and put in folder.
5. Now cross it off the list on the assignment brief.

Once all tasks have been completed go through every booklet and make sure everything has been filled in correctly. Because there are lots of gaps in the booklets!

You have exactly 9 hours left with me, you'll be pleased to hear.

I am sorry if at times I appear to be harsh, but please remember all I want for you is the very best and for you to leave college with some fantastic qualifications behind you. Although most of you are ready to leave now, try and enjoy your last few weeks.

You are old enough now to know you need to work until the coursework is done, as hard as it may be for some of you, you are all very capable to do this and do it well!

If you need to contact me....then you can email me!

Remember you can do it!

Yr 10 BTEC - creating an advert!

Hi Guys,
Above are examples of the types of backgrounds you may want to use for your advert!
Remember you need to choose the best plan and then replicate what you have created...
All you need to do is type in google images the type of background you may want, i.e. waterfall, garden etc etc...

We are now going to create your advert using Photoshop. Follow the instructions.
  • Click on start (bottom left hand side of screen)
  • Click on programmes
  • Find Photoshop and click on it to open it.
  • The setting is on an automatic A4 setting. If nothing comes up click on File/ New and enter the name of your advert, check that on that box it says A4 near the top.
  • Next get onto the internet and open up google images - find your background...!
  • Copy the image onto your photoshop A4 file, you may be able to just drag the image over, have a go and see if it works. If not click on the image until that is all you see on the screen and right click on the image and click on Copy.
  • Go to your photoshop image now and click on Edit/Paste.
You have 5 minutes to do this!!!!
For the purposes of this exercise I want you to save this image now, and then Save As example.

You should now have your Example open, as we are going to edit parts of this to show you how to use layers and change the image.

NOW YOU MUST WATCH AND LISTEN TO THE INSTRUCTIONS I GIVE YOU VERY CAREFULLY!!!! SOME OF YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW SOME OF THIS - HOWEVER YOU STILL NEED TO FOLLOW ME STEP BY STEP SO I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Eddie is a superstar at Photoshop so if you need any help once I have finished explaining you can ask, me, Mr Bennett, or Eddie for help!
:o)
Enjoy!
